FAQ
WH/GH - Panel Size
Panel sizes vary based on stock availability. Shower door panels range from 24" to 30" in ¼" increments. Bathtub door sizes available are 17”, 31.25”, 31.5” and 34”.
WH/GH - Specific Order
If you’d like specific panel sizes, place your order first, then immediately email inquiries@glasswarehouse.us with subject line “SPECIFIC ORDER REQUEST” including your order details and measurements. We’ll confirm by email if your requested sizes are available.
*Tip: If you don’t get a confirmation within 12 hours, please call us at (760) 536-3640 to make sure we received your request.
WH/GH - Sweeps
Wall Hinge: GW does not include a sweep on the hinged side, as the gap is typically only ¼" and water usually doesn’t escape. If you experience excessive leakage, contact Glass Warehouse and we’ll send a sweep.
Glass Hinge: We generally do not recommend a plastic seal between the panels, as it can cause binding. The gap should be no larger than ⅛". Adjusting the panels to 1/16"–1/8" will usually prevent leaks without a seal.
WH/GH - Difference
It is mostly a matter of taste/preference, as the only difference is the hinge placement. The Illume hinges to the wall (Wall Hinge), while the Halo hinges to another glass panel (Glass Hinge). Both are equally sturdy, reversible, EnduroShield® coated on both sides, and allow in/out door swing. ILLUME/HALO models include a sweep that limits swing to one direction unless removed.
General - Measuring
Before ordering a GW enclosure, make sure your shower is finished, as measurements change once tile and grout are installed. For dual panel pivot door systems, always order based on your minimum tile-to-tile width. Ordering larger than this minimum will prevent the shower from fitting.
General - Reversible
Yes! Almost all GW showers, including our 90° enclosures, can be installed to open either left- or right-hand to fit your space. The only exceptions are a few specialty styles, such as certain Fluted Sliders, French Monture Sliders, and Fluted Radius Fixed Panels, which require choosing a right- or left-hand model.
General - EnduroShield
Yes, all panels are premium tempered glass (3/8" or 5/16") and feature EnduroShield® protection on both sides which helps prevent soap scum, dirt, and other buildup, making cleaning easier, less frequent, and keeping your shower looking like new.
General - Height
Full shower models are all 78” tall, except for arch panels which are 86.75” tall. Bathtub models are typically 58.25” tall but range up to 66” depending on the model.
General - Silicone
Yes, applying silicone to the stationary panel is essential. It not only prevents water from leaking but also ensures the integrity, stability, and security of the entire shower enclosure.
General - Clips
Yes, mounting clip placement can be adjusted to fit your needs, as long as the panel is installed according to instructions and sealed with silicone on both the inside and outside where the panel meets the floor and wall.
